Each committee has a maximum of 10 members serving 1-year terms, with the option to renew. This ensures effective participation and engagment. If you’re not selected for a current position, don’t worry—more volunteer opportunities will arise soon.

GMDC Committees
Adult Education
Through programs like the Perspectives Business Diversity Training Series, this group works to expand access to meaningful learning while addressing the full range of issues impacting inclusion in workplaces and communities.
Education
Focused on youth programming, this committee supports the development and delivery of our Promoting Respect Workshops and other school-based initiatives. Members collaborate to promote inclusive values and empathy in classrooms across the region.
Events
Community connection happens through meaningful experiences. The Events Committee organizes public programs that celebrate diversity and foster inclusion. Ad hoc teams under this committee help lead key events like the Annual Event, MLK Pathfinder Awards, and Juneteenth Celebration.
Finance
Responsible financial planning is key to sustaining our mission. The Finance Committee oversees budgeting, financial oversight, and resource allocation to ensure we operate with transparency and long-term stability.
Marketing
This team drives awareness of our work through thoughtful communication and outreach. Whether it’s managing our online presence, promoting events, or developing campaigns, the Marketing Committee helps ensure our message reaches and resonates with the community.
